The invention of the mobile phone has turned the world upside down and consequently our lives have changed for the better. However, some people misuse cell phones and that is not appreciated in our society, above all in public places. In this essay, I will examine some reasons and facts for not using mobile phones in public places. There is nothing worse than being out in a public place and having to sit and to listen to someone else that is talking on the phone. Phone conversations usually include some intimate details of your personal life. By that I mean that it is rude to have to listen and to find out why your “neighbour” is going to the doctor or why he has to be at home this weekend. It is also claimed that the use of mobile phones in public places, such as restaurants, shops or public transport can be annoying. We are used to speak louder when we are on the phone, and sometimes, because of the difficulties with the coverage of the cell phone, we use to repeat what we have said several times. That is why the use of mobile phones can bother some people and even worse, it makes people lose their privacy. Another point is that we can cause an accident if we are talking on the phone. During the conversation, we are focused on what the matter is and we don´t pay attention to what is around us. Therefore, the use of mobile phones, in public transport for example, could be dangerous. In conclusion, although there are some people who think that mobile phones are essential in every moment of our lives, I feel that mobile phones shouldn´t be used in public places. In my opinion it is not appropriated! |
